ASSET FINANCE, EXPLAINED

Get clear on the asset.
Then explore how to fund it.

Asset finance can spread the cost of vehicles, machinery or equipment. The arrangement affects ownership, payments and what happens at the end, so it’s worth talking through how you intend to use the asset.

01 / A REASON TO EXPLORE

Vehicles that keep you moving

A van for a growing trade business, or another vehicle for a delivery fleet.

02 / A REASON TO EXPLORE

Machinery for the next order

Production or workshop machinery to increase capacity or replace older equipment.

03 / A REASON TO EXPLORE

Equipment for everyday work

Equipment for your workplace, from professional tools to business technology.

Illustrative situations, not customer stories or offers of finance.

COULD THIS FIT YOUR BUSINESS?

A little context
goes a long way.

Start with the asset, its estimated value and whether you want to buy new, buy used or refinance. Your broker will also ask about your business and discuss which arrangements may be available.

Hire purchase

Typically spreads payments towards ownership, subject to the agreement and any final payment or fee.

Leasing

Pays for the use of an asset. Ownership and end-of-term choices depend on the type of lease.

Asset refinance

May release funds against an asset you already own. Its value and any existing finance affect the options.

FROM YOUR PLANS TO A CONVERSATION

Big plans start
with a conversation.

Start with what you know.
Talk through the rest with a broker.

01 / YOU

Tell us what you need

Share a rough amount, your plans and a little about your business. You won’t need to upload accounts or bank statements for this introduction.

02 / ALIGNED FINANCE

We make the introduction

Your answers give a broker in our UK network a useful starting point. The next step is a conversation about your circumstances.

03 / YOUR BROKER

Explore the options together

Ask about costs, repayments and any security required. If you decide to apply, a lender assesses the application. There’s no obligation to borrow.

IT’S GOOD TO ASK

Good questions.
Clearer answers.

Can I finance used equipment?

Some providers fund used assets. The asset’s age, condition, value and intended use can affect the options.

Will I own the asset?

That depends on the agreement. Ask your broker to explain ownership, end-of-term options and any final payment before you decide.

Can I release money from an existing asset?

Asset refinancing may be an option. A broker will need information about ownership, current value and any finance already attached to the asset.

Is Aligned Finance a lender?

No. Aligned Finance introduces UK businesses to brokers in our network. Brokers discuss options with you; lending decisions are made by lenders.

Can my business enquire?

This journey is designed for UK businesses. Trading history, turnover, business type and the funding need can all affect the options available. Starting an enquiry does not confirm eligibility.

What happens after an enquiry?

An introduction starts a conversation about your needs and any further information a broker would need to explore your options.

Will there be a credit check?

If you go on to apply for finance, ask your broker what checks the lender will make and whether they could affect your credit record.

Are there fees?

Fees and borrowing costs depend on the broker, lender and finance product. Ask for a clear explanation of any charges before proceeding.

Could I need security or a personal guarantee?

Some finance arrangements require security or a personal guarantee, including some unsecured business loans. Your broker should explain what is required and what it means before you decide.

What should I have ready?

A rough funding amount, your reason for funding and some basic business information are enough to explore this introduction. A broker or lender may request accounts, bank statements or other documents later.
